Tabitha Brown’s Seasoning Is Coming Next Month

Tabitha Brown, a vegan actor and influencer, will launch her McCormick Sunshine Seasoning in grocery stores throughout the country in June. Brown’s favorite garlic powder is included in the salt-free, Caribbean-inspired spice mix, which also contains ginger, allspice, thyme, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and mango and pineapple for sweetness. Brown is expanding the limited-edition seasoning for the first time to reach more people after a hugely successful online launch last year, when it ran out in 39 minutes.

Brown revealed the news of the store launch in an Instagram video. In addition to this launch, as part of a long-term engagement with McCormick, her always-popular social media cooking instructions will continue to use McCormick goods. Sunshine Shick’n (shiitake mushroom-based vegan chicken stir-fry covered with a sweet and savory sauce), Maple Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges, and Chicky Farro Bowl are some of Brown’s dishes that highlight the spice blend’s summary Caribbean-inspired flavor profile (farro bowl topped with roasted chickpeas coated in Sunshine Seasoning).

“It’s everyone’s business to get their hands on some Sunshine Seasoning. After seeing the reaction from consumers last year and selling out online in under an hour, I’m thrilled we’re getting it on shelves across the country… Sunshine Seasoning brings just the right amount of flavor, especially for my fellow vegans and vegetarians, and is the perfect addition for any summertime dish,” Brown said.

Tabitha Brown’s Vegan Cooking

Brown’s followers will soon be able to cook with Brown in the comfort of their own kitchen thanks to “Bring Tabitha Home,” an augmented reality experience created in honor of the launching of McCormick Sunshine Seasoning. Starting on June 15, this functionality will be available only through the McCormick Flavor Maker app, allowing users to set a holographic version of Brown in their own kitchen and then share via social media, text, or email.

Last year, a month after the Sunshine Spice ran out online, an underground market emerged to provide enthusiasts with the in-demand seasoning. Several postings for the seasoning were discovered on Ebay, with some bids exceeding $120 for a two-pack of the spice combination. The original price of $14.94 was the lowest beginning bid for the seasoning pack, but it came with a $69 delivery cost.

“We were so blown away by the response to the McCormick Sunshine Seasoning by Tabitha Brown last year that we knew we had to get the seasoning in stores… We are always looking for new and exciting ways to bring innovative flavors to everyday meals. Brown’s Influence

Brown has amassed over 10 million social media followers since garnering prominence in 2017 after releasing a video of herself eating a “TTLA” sandwich from Whole Foods—made with garlic aioli, Lightlife tempeh bacon, tomato, lettuce, and avocado. Her social media presence has boosted her profile, and her name is now associated with a variety of projects. Her first social media video featured her dining at Whole Foods, so it’s no surprise that she’s a Whole Foods brand ambassador and participated in a 2018 marketing campaign for the store.

Brown has a contract with Dunkin’ Donuts to announce the national release of Planet Oat oat milk in 2020. With the release of her first book, Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business), Brown became a New York Times bestselling author last year. The book describes Brown’s experience with severe autoimmune pain and her path to veganism and recovery. Last year, she also appeared in “Slowing Down with Tabitha Brown,” a Calm app sleep narrative. Brown’s cooperation with Calm was even promoted on a video billboard in Times Square, New York City.

Brown’s previous career as an actor has also aided her transition to television. She has her own online series on Ellen DeGeneres’ network called All Love with Tabitha Brown, and she also makes frequent appearances on Vogue‘s Instagram account, where she creates vegan recipes as part of the outlet’s food series. Tab Time, a children’s show that premiered on YouTube last year, may be her cutest project yet.

Brown’s celebrity has brought her more than simply fans and endorsement deals. Brown won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality last year for her innovative recipes, compassionate messaging, and contributions to making the vegan lifestyle more accessible, inclusive, and accessible. Brown was also named Favorite Vegan Celebrity in the 2022 VegNews Veggie Awards by VegNews readers last month.
