The Lewis Oliver Farm is a historic community landmark dating back to the mid-1800s, and today, serves as a sanctuary and home to a small family of rescued farmed animals who are much loved by the community who enjoy visiting them and by the many volunteers who help take care of them on a daily basis.
In addition to our family of rescued farmed animals, our sanctuary also features original barns; botanical and vegetable gardens; a collection of native wildlife; a country store and the Lewis Oliver Vegan Education (L.O.V.E) Center.
The Lewis Oliver Farm was jointly purchased in 2007 by the Town of Huntington and Suffolk County so as to preserve this cherished landmark. The animal care, gardens, and educational programs are entirely funded and managed by Friends of the Farm, Northport Inc. - an all-volunteer-based 501(c)3 responsible for the day-to-day operations and fundraising needed to sustain this community treasure.
