Founded and managed by vegans, vKind was conceived out of a desire to bring fellow vegans together, to inspire others who are drawn to explore the beauty of a plant-based lifestyle, and to champion ethical companies who serve the unique demands of an emerging market. Like you, we yearned for an enlightened community offering the educational resources, products and services aligned with our own values.

With crystal clear vision, boundless passion and whole-hearted commitment to growing what we like to call the VegEconomy™, we set out on a journey toward what would become an ever-evolving destination. At the time, we never would have imagined how different the world might be on the day vKind would finally launch. Adapting to the new normal has required resilience, patience and willingness to accommodate change, which has proven to be the only predictable constant.

But more importantly, we have had to find ways to care for our emotional well-being in the face of a global pandemic, a faltering economy and civil unrest, which have so drastically altered the way we live and interact with one another. Ironically, harnessing that empathy and compassion into actions and deeds that help others and make the world a better place is a gratifying way to take care of our own emotional well-being in trying times.

This is especially true of vegans, whose lives are guided by immense empathy and compassion for all living creatures. We feel deeply for others, grieving the unimaginable loss of life and coping with the fear and anxiety born from extreme disruptions to our personal safety, financial security and way of life. That spirit of generosity and compassion is what being vegan is all about. Millions of vegans have adopted a plant-based, cruelty-free lifestyle because of their burning desire to create a more peaceful, sustainable and healthy world.

These same values are at the heart of vegan businesses. Having witnessed the sacrifices vegan business owners have had to make in order to survive these challenging times, we are in awe of their resilience and willingness to persevere for the good of their employees, customers and communities at large. Their extraordinary acts of kindness, selflessness and perseverance in the face of adversity is nothing short of inspiring.

So, what if becoming and supporting vegans to create a positive impact was a little easier? What if we, as vegan, vegetarian and veg curious consumers, could inspire more businesses to adopt cruelty-free principles by patronizing those who commit to doing so? Looking for answers to those questions has strengthened our own resolve to stay the course and launch vKind despite the challenges. We are excited about the ways in which vKind will help connect the vegan community, support vegan businesses and inspire more people to embrace vegan values.

It is gratifying to see how the rapidly-expanding vegan market is generating lucrative opportunities for businesses transitioning into the plant-based industry. They are the pioneers of the VegEconomy™, which is one of the fastest-growing emerging sectors of our economy.
