Vegan chicken wings with a ‘sugarcane spear’ bone will be available in 280 supermarkets throughout the UK, targeting at the 50% of Britons who consider themselves flexitarians as well as the burgeoning plant-based market.
The product, which is considered to be the first of its sort in the world, is part of a plant-based meat collection that will be available at Waitrose shops starting today.
The Crispy Fried Jackfruit Wingz, created by vegan street food eatery Biff’s, are the ‘hero’ product of the plant-based brand.
The realistic vegan chicken with a bone, according to the firm, ensures that the wings “deliver a genuine wing-eating experience in all its gratifyingly hands-on glory — without the meat.”
Biff’s Plant Shack
Crispy Fried Jackfruit Burgers, Smoky Chilli Cheeze Waffle Fries, Banging Bhaji Loaded Fries, a Plant Based Burger Sauce, and Maple Lime Chipotle BBQ Sauce are all part of the Biff’s Plant Shack line.
The wings have proven a solid favorite among diners at Biff’s 50 delivery kitchens and several of the UK pub chains where they are available since their debut in 2017 at a London street food stand.
Fans of the meal will now be able to make their own versions of the comfort food dishes using ready-to-cook foods produced from fresh jackfruit.
Biff’s claims to have utilized the ingredient because it tastes ‘amazing’ and is succulent. The alternative, which is flavored with a proprietary herb and spice blend and covered in panko breadcrumbs, is a fantastic choice for meat eaters and vegans alike.
Changing The Definition of ‘Boneless’

From April 6, 2022, Biff’s Plant Shack will be accessible in the refrigerated aisles of 280 Waitrose supermarkets in the United Kingdom. Sauces cost £2.50, waffle fries cost £3.95, and wings and burgers cost £4.50.
