Noah Schnapp of “Stranger Things,” Launches Vegan Nutella

Noah Schnapp, who stars as Will Byers in the Netflix series Stranger Things, has launched a vegan version of Nutella.

TBH is the outcome of a cooperation between Schnapp and Umana Venture Studios, a ’boutique’ for brand building. After Schnapp learned of the devastation caused by palm oil production – a popular ingredient in other hazelnut spreads – the two sides linked up.

TBH

According to the company, the vegan spread boasts three times the protein of traditional hazelnut spreads and is gluten-free and kosher. It has half the amount of sugar as the category leader and no palm oil.

The cocoa is UTZ-certified, which means it complies with “tight requirements” such as sound agricultural practices and safe working conditions. According to the Rainforest Alliance, which runs the initiative, it also stands for combating child and forced labor.

TBH’s packaging is also made entirely of recyclable materials.

“TBH is inspired by honesty. It’s about being transparent with ourselves about what we’re actually consuming, and then making a change for the better… Hazelnut spread on toast has always been my favorite comfort food, but of course, when I was a kid, I didn’t realize that my snack habit wasn’t very good for me or the environment. Once I found that out, I wanted to create a new take on hazelnut cocoa spread with honesty and sustainability at its heart, and found the perfect team to help that vision come to life,” Schnapp said.

The Importance of Gen-Z

The concept was also spurred by demand from younger generations.

In an interview with Forbes, Schnapps stated that he believes transparency is “super important” for Gen Z consumers. “I’ve noticed they like voting with their dollars. They want products that are better for you and better for the planet,” he said.

Schnapp later expressed gratitude for the opportunity to ‘help my generation make a difference through simple pantry swaps like TBH’.

TBH will be available through www.snacktbh.com.
