Dr. Neal Barnard
The charismatic change-maker Dr. Neal Barnard is not only a vegan doctor and author, but also president of the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine. PCRM has united plant-based doctors and pushed for policy change, with victories in reducing animal testing and increasing access to healthy, plant-based food options in hospitals.
Dr. Brooke Goldner
Aside from being an MD, ‘Dr. G’ inspires others with her powerful personal story of healing from lupus and stage IV kidney disease on a vegan diet. With Goodbye Lupus, Dr. Goldner teaches people how to reverse their autoimmune diseases with plant-based foods. Her voice is greatly needed voice in the chronic illness community, which otherwise champions using animal-centric diets like paleo or AIP to treat autoimmune disease.
Dr. Kim A. Williams
The former president of the American College of Cardiology Dr. Kim A. Williams, says, “There are two kinds of cardiologists: vegans, and those who haven’t read the data.” Dr. Williams is passionate about system change and improving programs so the public can make better choices. Dr. T. Colin Campbell
Having coined the term “WFPB” (whole-food, plant-based), Dr. T. Colin Campbell is a real OG in world of plant-based nutrition. Currently, the biochemist and Professor Emeritus at Cornell University teaches eCornell’s famous plant-based nutrition certification program alongside his son, Dr. Thomas Campbell.
Dr. T. Colin Campbell is perhaps best known for leading China–Cornell–Oxford Project, one of the largest epidemiological studies on nutrition ever done which revealed the dangers of dairy products very early on. Check out his nonprofit, Nutrition Studies.
