Serena Williams has invested in WILE through her venture capital business Serena Ventures. Women over the age of 40 are targeted by the vegan hormonal health business.
Herbal and plant-based solutions are available as supplements, tinctures, and beverages from the women-founded enterprise. The company says that its products can aid with stress, anxiety, night sweats, and hot flashes.
The items of the brand were developed in partnership with naturopathic doctors and research experts.
Women’s health is overlooked in medicine, according to WILE. In reality, the typical OB-GYN doctor only spends four hours in medical school studying menopause. Menopause is also underestimated in the general wellness market, not only in the medical community. This, according to Williams, is “astonishing.”
“The market and medicine have ignored 50 percent of the population in the prime of their lives and frankly, their earning power,” Williams said, who is the managing partner at Serena Ventures.
“It’s rare to see an area of opportunity this vast, this underserved, and this obvious… As an investor, we see this as a chance to support change in the culture with products women simply need,” she continued.
Serena’s Vegan Investment Portfolio
Williams is committed to investing in game-changing products. In 2017, she joined actor and Goop creator Gwyneth Paltrow in investing in Daily Harvest, a frozen plant-based meal subscription service.
“Serena and Gwyneth immediately understood our mission to provide convenient foods without nutritional compromise. Their passion for what we are building will make them instrumental members of our investment team,” said Daily Harvest’s CEO, Rachel Drori.
Williams is an investor in Impossible Foods, a plant-based meat firm with a mission to alter the food system, among numerous other high-profile people such as Bill Gates and Katy Perry.
Williams’ contribution will make a major impact to WILE, according to co-founder Gwen Floyd, and will help the company expand on its aim to aid women all over the world.
“This investment makes it possible for us to break through the silence and get her what she needs and wants, where she wants it,” she said in a statement.
This month, WILE’s goods will be available in Whole Foods Markets.
