Tennis pro Serena Williams and Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal are just a couple of many celebrities to endorse plant-based eating in an ad for JUST Egg.
Eat Just, the business behind the vegan egg, released two television advertisements starring Williams and Gyllenhaal, respectively. The commercials, which are narrated by actor JB Smoove, mock the extremes to which celebrities go to preserve their health and fitness. However, the adverts promise that eating healthy (and sustainably) is simple with JUST Egg.
JUST Egg, like other plant-based meals, is fully cholesterol-free. It also has 69 percent less saturated fat and five to seven more grams of protein per serving than chicken eggs (depending on the product).
The mung bean eggs are also better for the environment. Eat Just has sold the equivalent of 250 million eggs as of April, saving 9.1 billion gallons of water.
It also saved 43.6 million metric tons of CO2 and 13,446 acres of land.
Celebrities Love Just EGG
“I eat to live, so JUST Egg helps me feel and perform better. But it’s also delicious – I don’t think my family can even taste the difference between JUST Egg and chicken eggs,” Williams said. “I’m also all-in on the mission: how can we make healthy, sustainable options accessible to everyone?”
Williams, who has 23 grand slam titles under her belt, is also a shareholder in the company, which she’s “proud” of.
“JUST Egg is making a real difference,” she continued.
Gyllenhaal, who has appeared in over 60 films, including Donnie Darko and Nightcrawler, is also a shareholder in the company.
“I’m excited to be partnering with JUST Egg… I’m eating more plant-based for my health, and JUST Egg makes it easy and delicious,” he said.
“I also recognize the impact our food system has on our planet, so JUST Egg’s mission is important to me. And, honestly, who can turn down anything being narrated by JB Smoove?”
The new commercials will broadcast on TV in key cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City. They’ll also display on linked TV platforms and social media around the country, as well as on billboards in hard-to-miss areas.
